We recently put out some feelers to see if any of our partners are interested in helping to start an Online News Association Local chapter in New Jersey. There are strong chapters in NYC and Philadelphia, but nothing here in the Garden State. Based on the responses we received, that will soon change!
What will the New Jersey chapter do? The primary function of ONA Local chapters across the country are to host networking and training events for the local journalism and technology communities. Read more here.
The Center for Cooperative Media is playing a convening role in starting the local chapter, but we need a volunteer leadership team to run it, and we need members!
To get started, please fill out this form and circulate it far and wide inside your newsrooms and on social media.
Here’s the short link: https://goo.gl/forms/Tu2tdr03nJA93keI3
The form is meant to collect contact information for people interested in joining our ONA-NJ chapter, and to gauge who is interested in joining the volunteer leadership team.
