About our research director
Sarah Stonbely, Ph.D, is the research director for the Center for Cooperative Media. She received her doctorate in political communication and journalism studies from New York University in 2015. Her research is on the ways that journalism has been affected by the tumultuous changes in politics, culture, and technology since the late twentieth century. Her professional experience with New America Foundation, American Press Institute, and others has focused on the digital transformation of journalism and on helping journalism live up to its democratic ideals.
Sarah also has a long history of working in radio, dating back to her college days in Madison, WI, at 89.9FM WORT. Between college and graduate school, she was a radio producer for a sports-talk station in Milwaukee, WI, and during graduate school had her own radio show on WNYU.org. Sarah can be reached at [email protected].
